  • 豚肉 / ポーク Pork (butaniku / pōku)
  • ラード Lard (rādo)
  • ゼラチン Gelatin (often pork-derived)
  • 酒 / みりん Sake / mirin (alcohol)
  • コンソメ Consommé (usually pork/chicken mix)
  • ショートニング Shortening (may contain lard)

Generally safe

  • 鮭 / 魚 Salmon / fish (sake* / sakana)
  • Pickled plum (ume)
  • 野菜 Vegetables (yasai)
  • Egg (tamago)
  • Rice (kome / gohan)
  • 枝豆 Edamame

*Note: 鮭 (salmon, "sake") and 酒 (alcohol, "sake") share a reading — check the kanji!
